Book Review – You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

I’m so excited to finally give a positive book review to these authors!

I enjoyed You Are Not Alone quite a bit. I especially liked our main character, Shay’s, inquiring mind.

Unfortunately, I have not always given the kindest of book reviews to the author duo of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. Case in point:

+  The Wife Between Us review

  +  An Anonymous Girl review

Both books were good and kept my interest, but also had at least one thing so bad that I spent a good part of the review ranting about it.

In The Wife Between Us, it was the unnecessary twists and turns. There were so many it made me nauseous and their very existence became pat.

In An Anonymous Girl, it was the constant passive voice. Gaaaaah it drove me nuts! I’m a big fan of breaking grammatical rules in interesting ways, but avoiding a passive voice is one that probably exists for a good reason. Especially since our main characters were not passive ladies.

But huzzah! You Are Not Alone is a wonderful mystery thrill ride!

…except the epilogue. But let’s just not dwell on that right now, ok?

Read the book. It’s a good ‘un.

Here’s the other book I use as an example in this video: Bring Me Back by BA Paris. See my review here.
