Video: Books in the Freezer Readathon Challenge
I’m participating the the Books in the Freezer readathon challenge.
Books in the Freezer is a podcast in which two women, Rachel and Stephanie, talk about horror books. It’s wonderful!
Running from Monday, October 1 to Sunday, October 14, 2018, the objective of their readathon is to read horror books. They present five specific challenges specific to booktube (the readers’ corner of YouTube).
I’m notoriously bad at readathons. Instead of reading all of the books during the designated time-frame, I’m mostly talking about books I’ve already read. Yes, I’m cheating. But cheaters gotta cheat.
Books in the Freezer readathon challenge:
1. Read a horror book by a female author
– “The Birds” by Daphne du Maurier
2. Read a horror anthology or short story collection
– Strange Weather by Joe Hill
3. Read a horror book featuring or by an POC or LGBTQ+ person
– The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor LaValle
4. Read a horror book that has a movie adaptation – Bird Box by Josh Malerman
5. Read a book we’ve recommended on the podcast
– The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay
